I thrive in helping people and organizations set a clear vision and create the communications narratives and strategies to bring it to life. I have a proven track record as an innovative and results-getting leader who inspires people and can build community around a common purpose. As Chief Communications Officer for the Conservation Lands Foundation, I design and direct communications strategies to protect valuable and vulnerable public lands in the U.S. I drive public and policy actions that protects nature and enhance the collective impact of more than 80 community-led organizations that comprise a national network of local advocates.Prior to my work in the non-profit public land protection space, I founded and led a successful boutique public affairs consulting agency in California for 11 years - helping biotechnology, healthcare, transportation and new tech start up companies and industries advance policies to improve the lives of Californians. In 2016, I pivoted my career after being selected as one of 25 fellows at Stanford University's Distinguished Careers Institute. During this year-long fellowship, I applied my professional experience advancing some of the country's most consequential environmental, healthcare, transportation, and startup policy issues into a focus on social change to protect nature and mitigate climate change. I'm motivated to create a better world by connecting people with actions that support their values. I've served as a policy communication and narrative strategist as well as spokesperson for Fortune 50 companies, startups, federal, state and local governments, private industry, and nonprofit organizations. I've served as a project lead for the Emerson Collective’s Emerson Elemental program and am passionate about strengthening the connections between our lifestyles and the natural resources we depend on.
