The main responsibilities of the role included:• Researching the planning history, spatial and planning policy context of development sites;• Preparation of pre-application documentation, including EIA screening or scoping documents where required;• Organisation and attendance at pre-application meetings to outline and discuss proposals identify concerns and requirements and inform the working programme for a planning application;• The establishment of technical project teams, financial management and communication with consultants. • Project management of planning applications and Environmental Statements;• Preparation of planning application documentation including Planning Statements, Design and Access Statements, Retail Impact Assessments, Sequential Tests etc; • Attendance at public exhibitions and planning committee meetings;• Provision of planning advice to clients, either verbally or in a written format; and• Advising on the likely success of development proposals on client sites.
