I believe the best way to earn respect is, to be honest, and gracious. I have worked as a middle school science/math teacher for the past 12 years. I entered the education field in hopes of using my knowledge, enthusiasm, and presentation skills to encourage students to seek careers in science and engineering. Former students often contact me to say thank you and inform me of the career path they are taking. However, at heart, I am a Chemist.I am a Chemist with excellent record keeping skills and good laboratory practices (GLP). For the past 12 years, I have instructed individuals on the appropriate way to document laboratory procedures, follow written procedures, and practice safety in the laboratory. Organic Chemistry is my favorite; I find the structures, properties, and reactions fascinating. Whatever type of chemistry that someone enjoys, the process taught in analytical chemistry are fundamental.
