  Practised maritime law for the past 36 years at Shepstone & Wylie. More specifically, the nature of my current practice involves ship arrests, judicial sale of ships (acting for mortgagee banks and/or creditors), investigating maritime casualties in South and East Africa, dealing with securing release of vessels along the East Coast of Africa, (Maputo, Dar es Salaam, Mombasa) investigating cargo claims (largely defending shipowners), securing release of vessels from arrest by cargo claimants, statement taking in relation to, inter alia, crew injuries, collisions, oil pollution, stowaway problems, other maritime casualties, dealing with bunker quality disputes, making application for access to vessels for the purpose of obtaining documents and/or recording evidence, ship arrests for obtaining security for arbitration or other proceedings abroad, charter party disputes, arresting vessels for outstanding P&I calls and P& I related claims ( Shepstone and Wylie represent most of the P &I Clubs worldwide and I have worked with many claims handlers from the various Clubs over the years), arresting vessels for disputes under MOAs, arresting vessels for collision damage, damage to fixed and floating objects, etc.
