Current student at UC Berkeley in the Professional MS in Civil Engineering program, the Structural Engineering and Mechanics of Material (SEMM) course. I acquired my B.Tech Honors degree in Civil Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) previously this year, where I was involved in research based on Steel fibre reinforced concrete for tunnels, Foldable structures, Cement-asphalt mortar design for high speed railway and many other courses and projects. Throughout my bachelors program, I did 3 internships, which helped me gather the practical site experience. the internship at Emaar Development, Dubai specifically boosted my way of handling on-site practical issues and time management. The coursework I did allowed me to become proficient in many areas such as structural design and analysis using reinforced concrete, steel and timber, construction economics, conceptual design and much more.For my final B.Tech semester, I went for a semester exchange program at Politecnico di Milano, Italy, where I did research on SFRC mechanical testing and other course work, which gave me an understanding of the variation of structural and architectural aspects in the construction industry around different parts of the world.After all these experiences, I am at UC Berkeley as a Graduate student. I will be taking courses such as Structural Dynamics, Earthquake Resistant Design, FEM and Non-Linear Analysis during my program. Ultimately, I am aiming to find a suitable position in the industry which can be as challenging and exciting, where there will be a lot of logics and brain will be used to always keep learning such that any and all practical situations can be countered.
