About Krishan Sharma
20 years as a marketing and communications professional working in the tech industry has taught me a thing or two about how companies and organisations can tell their stories effectively to drive engagement. Whether it's crafting compelling written narratives or harnessing the power of digital platforms, I've proven my ability to captivate audiences and drive tangible results for both B2B and B2C clients. As a multi-award-winning journalist that has been covering technology topics for over a decade, my work has appeared in some of the biggest publications in the country from The Australian and The Sydney Morning Herald to the Financial Review (AFR) as well as globally recognised publications such as ZDNet, CSO and Lifehacker. I also have and continue to make appearances on national television and radio such as Sky News, Today Show and ABC to provide insight on emerging technologies and industry trends. As a corporate writer, moderator and consultant, I work with select companies directly to develop and execute multi-channel marketing and content strategies, driving meaningful engagement that resonates with diverse audiences. I have extensive experience in writing industry white papers, producing research reports for analyst firms and moderating panels/roundtable discussions as well as hosting webinars on topics relating to technology. Recently, I was contracted by Sony Pictures and Playmaker Media on a six-month stint as a Technology Consultant on Australia's most ambitious TV show to date, The Commons, which debuted on Stan. This involved working with the show's talented creators directly and providing feedback on the technical themes of the show during pre-production from scripts, art, costumes and props to visual effects. Prior to my journalism career, I was an IT professional who established a wide breadth of experience in the ICT industry. With my tertiary qualifications in IT, Multimedia and Business Management, I ran my own IT Consulting business for over five years, initially servicing SMEs and then later expanding to government departments and tertiary institutions.Searching for something a bit different, I then tackled the world of Digital Marketing and worked for one of Australia’s largest ad agencies where I developed and managed the digital strategies for a number of recognisable brands.
Listed skills include Freelance Writing, Digital Marketing, Journalism, Digital Strategy, and 20 others.

As the Head of Web Strategy, I was entrusted with the day-to-day management of a large team of in-house designers, developers and project coordinators to ensure client projects were executed at a high level of quality, on-time and within budget. A large aspect of my role was client facing from developing the requirements with the client to account management. Projects typically fell under three key pillars: website redevelopment, smartphone apps and social media campaigns. Bringing in new clients to the business was also a fundamental part of my role. For government clients this involved submitting tenders while for corporate clients this entailed coming up with various pitches and presenting it formally to the client. Finally, I was also involved in expanding the services Big Bridge offered by developing partnerships with key external companies such as Reload Media and Microsoft. During my 2-year tenure, I increased Big Bridge's client base by 38% while also doubling the gross profit margin on a per-project basis. In 2014, the owner of Big Bridge retired, and the business was sold off to iFactory Digital. Show less
