At Dutchie I initially worked on the e-commerce side of the business and developed search technologies. This involved working with a Ruby on Rails stack, a Graphql layer driven by Node/Javascript/Typescript, Mongodb, Postgres, and Elasticsearch. Job duties included writing code, mentoring more junior engineers, designing data storage for search, reviewing PRs, and pushing our tech stack forward.After working on our e-commerce offering I was moved over to work on the point of sale side of our company. This was an entirely different stack - C#, .NET, and MSSQL. While at Dutchie I also ran the engineering mentorship program to help connect engineers to other engineers. I also participated in training engineers unfamiliar in C#, .NET, & MSSQL in those technologies.

At UserTesting I was responsible for designing, coding, and maintaining software for our UX SaaS platform. The projects I worked on involved speeding up our customer facing dashboard, implementing a new pricing/subscription model to increase revenue, and breaking up our monolithic application into services to relieve developer pain.I was also responsible for mentoring several other developers, working across teams to complete department wide projects, and in general supporting other developers with expertise.UT's technology stack includes Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, REST, MySQL, and Docker.

Vorstella focused on ops automation and alerting through Machine Learning. We would capture data from datastore application (Cassandra, Kafka, and Elasticsearch), store that data, and feed it into a ML pipeline for processing. A dashboard would be used to give feedback to the operator of those datastores, alert them when a problem occurred, and provide a root cause/solution to the problem.I worked on the data collection agents, backend apis for the web frontend, and the pipeline to take data from customers and feed it to ML. Most of my software work was done in Java and Kotlin. We stored data in PostgreSQL, Kafka, and Elasticsearch.

Worked on an application used to automate tasks in the CAD suite PTC Creo. The software would automate tasks, such as laying out piping repeatedly, into a single click of a button.Sole developer maintaining a Ruby on Rails backend api for a single page application. Maintained and deployed with Heroku. Data was stored in a PostgreSQL database.

Worked directly with the CTO to develop JamboDoc -- an online platform for doctors and patients to communicate. Implemented features on the web side that allowed doctors to share articles with patients and set up programs to remind patients to do things like take mediciation or exercise. The website used Ruby, MySQL, Sidekiq, Bootstrap, and JQuery.Was the sole developer of the JamboDoc Android app. This allow doctors and patients to to message each other, attach files to those messages, and receive push notifications when messages were sent to them.

Began as a Adobe Flash/Actionscript developer on The Agency Covert Ops Facebook game. I was moved into a server role later in the project and became the lead server developer. Responsibilities included deploying, maintaining, developing and designing Java-based server side code and managing multiple employees.Next I worked as a team member on the game server for Wildlife Refuge. We wrote a new in house game server using Netty and Java. The game logic was implemented using Hibernate, Spring and some Groovy scripting.Both games involved interfacing with Facebook APIs. We used an agile process to meet with stakeholders and fulfill their requirements.

At Amazon, I provided APIs to other teams within the company used to manage retail inventory within Amazon's warehouses. These APIs were used to track inventory locations, financial data associated with inventory and drive down inventory defects. My team at Amazon further developed the APIs by creating web services that could be used by client teams to build software.Work at Amazon also includes servicing a fleet of boxes, maintaining a service stack and providing support via pager duty. The software involved dealing with big data and lots of scalability issues (think hardware load balancers).

At Raytheon I was worked on the EAGLE project which was a web portal that added additional features to a military standard used to run repair depots. This involve writing stored procedures in PL/SQL on an Oracle database and serving them up as html through the Apache Webserver.I also worked on a project used to troubleshoot flight data from aircraft. This tool was written in C# and involved on site consulting with clients.
