I gained invaluable experience in early childhood education during my internship at My First Skool, particularly in creating and implementing lesson plans, designing play kits, and teaching lessons. During my time in the PG group, I was responsible for the care and education of 24 children, an experience that significantly enhanced my skills and deepened my passion for working with children.Lesson Planning and ExecutionThe lesson plans I created were both educational and engaging, tailored to meet the developmental needs of preschoolers. Activities included in these plans were designed to promote the development of cognitive, social, and motor skills. A variety of lessons were designed to foster curiosity and a passion for learning, ranging from interactive storytelling sessions to hands-on science experiments.Play Kits DesignOne of the highlights of my internship was creating innovative play kits that combined fun and learning. For instance, I developed a fruit playkit to help children learn about colors and healthy eating. The playkit included colorful, tactile fruit models that the children could sort and match according to their colors. Another notable project was the volcano box, which allowed children to explore basic scientific concepts through an engaging experiment using baking soda and vinegar.Teaching LessonsTeaching lessons at My First Skool was a rewarding experience that allowed me to interact directly with the children and observe their growth. I conducted a variety of activities such as painting, outdoor Motor Skills Development (MSD), and sensory play. These activities were not only enjoyable for the children but also crucial for their developmental milestones. I took great joy in facilitating outdoor explorations, where we would engage with nature and play with materials like playdough and paint.
