Hello everyone! My name is Krishna Thaker and I am a current undergraduate student at the University of California, Santa Barbara pursuing a degree in Political Science and international relations. As part of my studies, I served as a research assistant for Professor Amit Ahuja and assisted him in analyzing instances of caste violence in Southeast Asia. On campus, I serve as the Chair of the UCSB Associated Students Judicial Council, our student government equivalent of the Supreme Court. In this position, I learned to manage an extensive docket of cases, drafted opinions based on the legal code, and managed a bench of four other student judges. Additionally, I am honored to return to the Resident Assistant [RA] position in the upcoming year. As an RA and student leader in the largest student community at UCSB, Santa Catalina Hall, I oversee a hall of 40+ students and collaborate with a team of RAs to plan engaging academic and social events for the community. Outside of school, I have two years of barista experience. As a self-appointed coffee snob, I truly enjoy creating handcrafted beverages and chatting with community members as they stop for their daily dose of caffeine.
