Transformed this business by focusing on developing a strong product pipeline, broadening the base of customers and markets serviced, building partnerships with global innovators and reducing manufacturing costs. Global partners include BASF, Syngenta, Saltigo, Takeda, Merck, Lanxess, Evonik, Lonza (Arxada), and other Agrochemical and Pharma majors. Double digits CAGR in sales over the past 4 years. Cabot Sanmar Ltd – A Joint Venture involved in the manufacture and sale of colloidal silicon dioxide. Markets serviced include - Pharmaceutical, Coatings, Food and Construction chemicals, Adhesives, Consumer care and Packaging. Top line growth by increasing the market share through a combination of upgradation of technology, introduction of new products and ramping up the distribution channel.

Led a ~$175 Million Absorbent Materials business with responsibilities for all aspects of the global business including strategy, execution, commercial sales, marketing and product development. Customers serviced include Johnson & Johnson, Kimberly Clark, Paul Hartmann, Ontex, Unicharm and Kao among others in the FMCG space. Developed a business plan to reposition this commodity business into viscose rayon end-use.

Led the sales effort for North America and technical service for Asia, delivering $250 million in sales. End markets serviced include Plastics, Filter tow, Pharmaceutical coatings and Food thickening agents. Customers serviced include Eastman, Celanese, Dow Chemical, Shin Etsu, Courtalds and FMC BioPolymer. Responsibilities include key account management, develop and execute strategies for margin growth, contract negotiations, order scheduling and sales forecasting.

Headed the Process Engineering/Control/Technical services team in a specialty chemical manufacturing unit. Functional areas managed included, process engineering & control, product quality, production scheduling and inventory management and customer service. Key results areas included cost reduction, capital projects execution, process optimization, production increases & new product launches.

Contributed to the growth of EAM Corporation from $0 to $15 million in sales. Developed capital plans, key account strategies and broadened the technology platform by market-driven product development. Primary liaison with raw material suppliers of Super Absorbent Polymers, non-woven materials and fluff pulp. As Global Account Manager for Kimberly-Clark supported product launches in Australia and Latin America. Managed the IP portfolio by filing ten patent applications and completing seven freedom-to-practice opinions.

Developed a new absorbent core technology and successfully commercialized this product -NovaThin™ - along with a cross-functional business team. This led to the establishment of a new start-up venture – EAM Corporation. Supported the global launch of a new feminine hygiene product by Johnson & Johnson. Owner of multiple patents on this technology.

Identified alternative processing steps for a pulp mill to ensure compliance with EPA regulations.Developed a modified alkaline treatment stage, using process simulation tools, resulting in chemical savings and product quality improvements.

Development of Chlorine Free Bleaching for Extended Delignified Pulps and Development of Modifications to the Rapid Displacement Heating Pulp Process. Publications in multiple journals and Presentations in various forums on these topics. Thesis funded by an industry consortium with a mandate to reduce environmental impact of pulp manufacturing.
