-Developed and optimized mRNA downstream processes including capture chromatography, polishing chromatography and Filtration (TFF) for Base-editor mRNA.- Working cross-functionally for the optimization and scale-up of IVT reactions both in house and third party's GMP facility. -Leading 5' UTR, 3'UTR and Codon optimization efforts to optimize the cellular expression of mRNA.-Engaging with several CROs/CDMOs for tech transfer activities and manufacturing scale-up.- Working cross-functionally with preclinical manufacturing, Chemistry, LNP, and Analytical development team to enhance the safety and potency of mRNA.

Projects:-Identified a novel mechanism of RNA capping in bacteria with Coenzyme A (CoA).-Synthesized multiple CoA analogs and phosphopantetheine analogs by solid phase organic synthesis and their purification by reverse phase (RP) HPLC and ion-exchange chromatography.-Developed a new protocol for selective protection of secondary alcohols.-Developed a new and easy PCR-based cloning method, applied it to reconstruct CoA biosynthetic pathway in vitro and demonstrated the synthesis of dephospho CoA plus its dimer.-Worked as a Teaching assistant in the department of Chemistry and Biochemistry for more than four years. Mentored several undergraduate and graduate students in the lab.
