I started out as an academic researcher with a C.S PhD, left academia early for the startup world and spent 15+ years in software product engineering, before founding Exathink Research in 2011. After working “vertically” in a few companies for many years, my goal was to use this as a vehicle to work “horizontally” across many companies, to develop practical techniques and tools to improve how we measure the work of making software. A problem I faced personally as I rose through the ranks in my commercial software career. I wanted to go beyond the usual stale debates over software metrics, and to come up with useful data driven techniques and tools that teams could use day to day to improve how they make and ship software. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺, powered by our SaaS measurement platform 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀, is the culmination of over a decade of our work with customers. We show you how to use hard data to craft fast, predictable engineering processes in a non-judgemental, process agnostic way. Our typical client is a mid-sized software company with between 50-500 engineers, but we have recently started to work with larger customers as well.
