Our team created the Innovation platform for NJ Transit Light Rails from concept, lab and to prototype production in 6 Months for 2 trains and 4 stations. This allowed us to apply for over $75M in grants and $25M has been awarded to scale the project out.NJ TRANSIT Innovation Team set out to pioneer the next generation of global transportation services through our projects, such as the Innovation Train/Bus. While there are many technologies on the market, typically, no one deployable product exists that can fulfill our goals. As a result, for this project, we ‘invented’ the future — a single stack of the ideal configuration of hardware, software, and standard operating procedures replicable across the entirety of NJ TRANSIT’s system.Innovation Train Main Projects We employed two configurations of the following technological features:- broadband mesh private network to fill communication gaps and commute from moving train to trackside.- an expanded 10G backbone to increase bandwidth and speed allowing us to do more applications- Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) for real-time video access and analytics for public safety and passenger count.- Seamless onboard and station Wi-Fi (private and public - over 300Mbps)- Automated Passenger Counts (APC) and analytics for NTD reporting with 95% certainty.- Accurate Location using four systems : GPS, 5G Hyper Precise Location (GNSRTT), Inertial Navigation/Dead Reckoning, UWB with 5cm accuracy. - People and assets tracking using UWB-based wayfinding solutions. The Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA) is building a Geographic Information System (GIS) application and dashboard to display data on medical malpractice and adverse actions taken against health care practitioners. The new data visualization tools will present summarized data in new and interactive ways to make this resource more accessible to a wider audience..HRSA operates the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB), a web-based system that implements important patient safety and anti-fraud legislation. The NPDB system maintains over 1.1 million reports of health care practitioners, providers, and suppliers with a history of malpractice, incompetence, fraud, license suspension, criminal conviction, or unprofessional conduct. Individual data reports against practitioners, providers and suppliers are kept confidential by law.While aggregate data are currently available to researchers and other interested parties, these data are not easily digestible for non-technical users. Therefore, the goal of this project is to make NPDB trend data more accessible, open, and transparent to researchers and the general public. Additionally, the External Entrepreneur is partnering with the internal team to enhance the current data and recommend opportunities for process streamlining.
