Work as the Electrical Design Engineer primarily starts with Design Kick-off Meetings, includes designing the probecards,monitoring the progress of design through different stages such as PCB Design, MLC Design, Mask Design and Manufacturing before finally providing test instructions to the First Article Verification team.It consists of two parts feasibility analysis reports and probe card design. Feasibility Analysis involves doing a preliminary layout and design analysis for the feasibility of the customer requirement. Probe Card design involves creating netlists and completing the design for the probe card based on the approved feasibility analysis. This has helped me gain a good understanding of the manufacturing and design of our product - Probe Cards. Interaction with sales, strong analytical and problem solving skills are used to determine the best design features for a particular customer requirement.Feasibility analysis:* Responsible for preliminary design of layout and completing schematics to ensure the probe card can be built* Confirm customer requirements like specific electrical/PCB components* Communicate and Obtain sign off from Manufacturing and R&D groups on layout of design, signal density/routing issues and placement issues* Actively communicate with sales and manufacturing to clear customer /internal concerns regarding electrical design issuesProbecard design:* Responsible for generation of net-lists for MLC and PCB design, generating mask and production files involved with MLC design* Perform design reviews for other Electrical Design Engineers * Determine and assign design type, design criteria based on customer requirements * Review the completed part data from the PCB and MLC design groups. * Verify the B.O.M list from engineering group once design is completed* Inform and provide detailed instructions to Test group about the components installed on the probe card to help them test it.
