As Head of HR, I worked on crafting a HR Strategy for Navi, including defining key Goals, Metrics for the function. Oversaw several strategic interventions across the HR ecosystem - putting together a blueprint for the HR tech ecosystem, focussing on a leadership development program, identifying key levers for enhancing employee experience etc.

Transformed Flipkart to be the employer choice by providing an inclusive and entrepreneurial environment through a balance of bespoke and sustainable people practices.Crafted a differentiated people strategy focussed on delivering a personalised and superlative employee experience while ensuring we shape a future fit org aligned to business outcomes around agility, efficiency and productivity. Re-shaped the organisation by focusing on multiple org design levers like role centralisation, harmonisation, spans and layers to meet the annual operating plan.Crafted a unique employee value proposition (EVP) around four key pillars - Leave a Mark, Work with the Best, Experiment-Learn-Grow and We Care. This EVP became the central narrative across our employee comms both internally and externally. Managed a very diverse workforce across tech, supply chain, corp and business teams - 18K+ FTEs, 100K+ FTCs through the Covid pandemic. Rolled out several practices to protect and ensure safety of our front line workforce e.g. extended medical benefits for FTCs. To build a sustainable and future fit org, led enterprise wide transformation initiatives to shape the org design for each business line e.g. Grocery, Fashion and built a strong succession pipeline for the top leadership team. Drove several industry first innovations in people practices e.g. integrated career development framework, preventive health care for employees through the Flipkart Healthy Project.Re-imagined the talent and culture development programs to ensure they are employee owned, manager facilitated and organisation supported. Leveraged technology across the talent development ecosystem.Drove the culture of inclusion and diversity for the organisation as chair of I&D council. Led the Engineering and Product for the Fulfilment and Services Group (eKart, FSE and Jeeves) within Flipkart. Set the strategic vision and direction for the function in line with the supply chain ambition for the organisation. Transformed the fulfilment and services experience of consumers and sellers by investing in the next generation of platforms and capabilities.Re-architected the product stack to build extensible capabilities for new supply chain lines for categories such as Large, Services and Grocery.Put together the product roadmap for brand new capabilities e.g. Cross Dock, Fulfilment Orchestrator etc. to make supply chain intelligent, extensible snd scalable.Championed a truly inclusive One Supply Chain team across Engineering, Operations and Business.

Led the Technology and product teams at Cleartrip. Responsible for overall technology strategy and vision across the product portfolio of Travel, Experiences and Accommodation.Worked with the top leadership team at Cleartrip to set the product strategy, roadmap and KPIs.Ensured operational excellence of the product lines.

Built the Marketplace product at Flipkart, seeding it as a General Manager (GM) heading Engineering, Product and Operations. Scaled the marketplace engineering and product organisations from ground up to over 400+. Grew the Marketplace biz exponentially as part of the Flipkart business portfolio to over 100K sellers, 85 Million Listings and a significant share of GMV and Units. As part of the scale out of the marketplace business, invested deeply in new product capabilities like Selection Intelligence, Seller Prioritisation Engine and Seller Central etc.Took over additional charters in engineering for Accounting, Catalog and Trust and Safety Platforms.

Built a digital commerce platform for enabling multi channel commerce.Conceptualised an architectural blueprint and a technology stack to pave the way for the build out of the new platform.Led the design and implementation efforts in several modules of the new platform like integrated fulfilment, inventory and order management etc.As part of the build out, migrated from a legacy ATG platform to meet business needs while ensuring minimal disruption.Led the hiring efforts from the ground up in putting together an engineering organisation with developers, quality engineers, and operations folks. As part of these efforts eliminated consulting costs saving 50% of the headcount cost.Helped setup operations infrastructure and monitoring to ensure a high availability setup.Enhanced the digital commerce platform to support new lines of businesses and increased revenue by 3x.Consolidated data center operations to reduce costs by 40% with better SLAs and reduced operational cost.

Leading Core Engineering Delivery for Yahoo! Autos and Real Estate which are two important properties of the Media Products and Services group in Yahoo!Responsible for executing the globalisation of Yahoo! Autos to be deployed in phases across 4 continents, and over a dozen countries. As part of this effort, re-architecting and re-designing the technical stack to grid-based computing platforms like Content Agility.Leading technical and program execution of a key strategic partnership with Zillow for Yahoo! Real Estate.

Took a sabbatical to pursue some long cherised social activities. Co-founder of an NGO that devotes itself to preserving vedic culture, and heritage, providing for rural health care, and inventing new organic farming methodologies.

Head of India Development Operations reporting into the CTO. Successfully showcased the team’s capabilities and achievements and led by example to bring core engineering responsibility to the Bangalore center, which was unprecedented and very valuable to the company.Led a diverse technical team consisting of 4 product teams distributed based on product area and ownership and across multiple skill sets and seniority levels. Also in charge of team collaboration and coordination across the US, Romania, and India offices.Facilitated all outbound communication about product roadmap progress, and product/team status to the management and key stakeholders in cross-functional departments.Headed new product development and maintenance of the legacy platforms.Planned and executed an extremely complex and staged Data Center Cage Move to consolidate Andale and Vendio network operations resulting in substantial savings (over $4M annually) for the company.Worked in co-ordination with the top recruiters in the country to hire the best talent in the industry, as well as running a very successful BITS Internship program. Grew the team from ground up to over 30 engineers and continually engaged in setting goals and measurement metrics to enhance team morale and performance.Worked closely with the VP Product Management to strategise and plan the product roadmap and execution across the product teams.Worked extensively with Director, Operations for planning, and maintaining network operations for the product(s).Strategised and planned the first series of product launches to consolidate the Vendio and Andale product platforms post the acquisition, like User/Billing Consolidation, Product Cross Selling, Unified Login, Token/Images Consolidation, and Internal Tool Consolidation etc.Successfully led the Bangalore Engineering Team to launch a next generation product titled the “Vendio Platform” which received wide acclaim and accolades in the E-commerce domain.

Key member of the Core Planning Committee to come up with a final blueprint and roadmap to achieve consolidation of the Andale and Vendio product platforms.As a vital member of the Bangalore Development Team, took over the management of teams executing key projects and guided them to successful completion.Led a very complex and multi phased project to enable domain transition from Andale based domains to Vendio based domains.Led efforts in data disaster management and recovery during an outage crisis in the company, which successfully saved over 10K customers and millions in revenue.Drive product components through entire product life cycle from conception to development, QA and operational deployment.Responsible for building and maintaining the core billing system with integrations to Verisign/Paypal, and BIBIT for product monetisation.Led the re-engineering of the Gallery product and achieved greatly improved performance thereby bringing the Gallery update times from 30 mins. to fewer than 20 secs.Architected and developed the Andale Communication Layer to interface with the eBay Marketplace API.Designed and developed the Storefront Product as part of Andale’s initiative to diversify sales channels for its customers.Re-architected and implemented several components within the pre-sale module of the Andale application.Assisted the KPMG Audit process by providing key inputs, and tools for reliable financial auditing.Worked with Product Management in identifying key features for the product while providing feedback in terms of the scope and engineering feasibility.Served as a liaison between Program Management and Engineering to expedite the product development cycle, ensuring that the functional specifications are engineered as per design.Assisted Quality Assurance by providing Regression Tools and interfaces to perform ‘White Box’ Testing on various components of the Andale Application.

Worked on the early design/implementation of several startup initiatives like AtRoad Inc., AndaleInvolved as a consultant in the Core engineering team of Andale Inc, to launch an e-commerce platform focussed at SMEs and online merchants.Consulted with HP as part of their efforts to build an online inventory system for its employees.

Part of the team that worked on the Sidekick 99 personal information management system (PIM).Involved in system level integration testing with a wide variety of hand held devices.Worked on incremental releases, and patch releases on the REX product line.

Part of the Platform Technologies Group, involved in porting the Oracle Server platform to Linux.Involved in code level migration across the middle and database tiers of the server.Created Test Harnesses for platform integration and compatibility tests.
