I am a behavioral scientist with a passion for understanding why people think, feel, and act the way they do, and how this knowledge can drive impactful change. My work focuses on decision-making, negotiation, and fostering diversity and inclusion in organizations and society.One of my core research streams helps organizations promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) through innovative approaches beyond traditional diversity or implicit bias training. I have developed subtle, easy-to-implement interventions that enhance organizational culture and increase diversity without explicitly focusing on gender, race, inequality, or discrimination.In another research stream, I focus on improving decision-making for employees, managers, and executives. While most people believe they are good at making decisions, decades of behavioralscience research highlight significant biases. I identify subtle interventions that improve decision-making outcomes, such as simultaneous option evaluation and fostering a choice mindset to enhance leadership and negotiation skills.Having lived across the globe—from the US to India, Singapore, and nowHong Kong—I am deeply fascinated by cross-cultural differences and their influence on behavior. My research uses these comparisons to uncover fundamental psychological processes, as well as to explore the intersection of culture and sustainability, revealing ways to motivate sustainable behavior across different cultures. I am also engaged in computational social science. Unlike many who study perceptions of AI, I apply machine learning to generate novel insights, driving new avenues in social science research. My group was the first to use machine learning to generate and test novel hypotheses, verified through experiments.My research has been featured in outlets like the New York Times, Harvard Business Review, and Forbes, and has won several accolades, including the 2021 Responsible Research in Management Award from theAcademy of Management.As an educator, I teach courses on managerial decision-making and was named among the Best 40 Under 40 Professors by Poets and Quants in 2018. I also received an Outstanding Educator Award from the National University of Singapore.I have served as an associate editor at the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology and Organizational Behavior & Human Decision Processes.Looking forward to connecting and making impactful change together.
