Dr. Krishnendu Sarkar has joined the West Bengal Education Service as an Assistant Professor in Physiology since December 2019. Prior to this he was working in the capacity of Assistant Professor in the School of Design (SoD), UPES. He has worked with the R&D lab of GSK consumer healthcare India and Human performance Laboratory, GSK, London, UK. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Ergonomics from the University of Calcutta. He was awarded the prestigious Prof. Sacchidananda Banerjee Memorial Research Prize, 2016 given by the Physiological Society of India. He has also extensively worked in a Ministry of Mines project for the design and development of a protocol to evaluate the vibration hazard potential of Heavy mining machinery. His area of expertise includes user-centered design, design methodology, human factors and ergonomics in industrial design, automotive ergonomics, cognitive ergonomics, usability engineering, user interface design, statistical methods. He has published his research in journals of national and international repute. He is a life member of the Physiological Society of India and the Indian Science Congress Association. He has also qualified Joint CSIR-UGC NET for life science.
