Manage the purchasing function of the department; facilitate company-wide projects; collaborate with managers to maximize spend. Ensures that productivity and quality standards are achieved. Ensures that staff works as a team. Leads by example, communicates information and provides training. Determines performance expectations, evaluates performance and provides coaching and opportunities for developmentBuild purchasing markets, develop Key Performance Indicators for purchasing projects, evaluate RF(Q,P) responses, build appropriate Core Teams for projects, establish supplier performance requirements and scorecards, develop a project deck of projects to impact P&L requirements. Manage two CS groups located in CT and UT. Establish goals/objectives for the department; track/report performance. Insure new employees are properly trained and coached on customer service best practices. Review internal policies and procedures on a regular basis, update guidelines accordingly.Responsible for bid/proposal activity, negotiating contracts, analyzes requests for extensions or contract modifications. Provide recommendations of approval or alternative solutions to management for contracts and monitor supplier performance for compliance. Perform program management functions when introducing new vendors, new processes, new systems and training as required. Ensure supplier contracts meet legal guidelines, contracting principles and cost effective constraints as outlined in Corporate Purchasing policies.

Managed supplier performance for strategic accounts of $15M assuring timely execution of plans, continuous improvement and managed issues/opportunities that impact company’s future direction and profitability. Partnered with suppliers to enhance pricing and service to achieve best in class performance; saving the company $6M.Team Lead on a cross-functional team to research, develop, and implement new Oracle 11i Purchasing/AP system during redesign project. Developed Standard Operating Procedures, training material to help implementation of new system, and provided continually support of internal customers on ordering. Designed, developed and implemented rollout of online ordering systems for office supplies, operations materials and print on demand.Created and negotiated national and local contracts with external suppliers based on company requirements saving the company over $1.8M. Evaluated and approved new Suppliers based on company needs.
