While a lot of people have big ideas, and believe me, I love big ideas, execution is all that matters. I consider what I do, fundamentally, as problem solving. As satisfying as it is to create something clever, beautiful or both - be it the copy, the site, the logotype or the poster - the message is of little value unless it firmly punches through the noise of the everyday and effects a reaction.As Creative Director for the Neighborhood Restaurant Group, I view our 18 businesses as distinct individual clients, each with its own unique voice, tone and tenor - while in the service of the greater good for the brand as a whole. To accomplish this, I need to remain nimble and able to move swiftly from one project to the next while maintaining a holistic view toward each. Meaning, there's no simple means for specific channel marketing (it's no longer about mobile or email or social, they're all intertwined) when each problem demands a different set of solutions.And that's exactly what makes it fun.The scope of my work is to aid in bringing to life new concepts, keeping them fresh and keeping our customers fully engaged. Specifically, the work includes naming new businesses, designing their visual identities, determining the brand message and the voice with which to carry it through, the design of all printed materials, signage and websites and copy - all with with a serious emphasis on engagement (as opposed to mass) marketing, in an effort to keep every interaction relevant and personal.
