Chief executive responsible for all aspects of internal and external communications and marketing for Cincinnati Public Schools (CPS), the largest public school system in southwest Ohio and member of the Ohio Urban 8. CPS has 65 schools, 36,000 students and 6,000 employees.Team responsible for high profile communications including pandemic communications, strategy re-launch, crisis communications, and superintendent transition. Ensured immediate communication of rapidly changing pandemic-related policies including learning models, guidelines, and community transmission rates through multiple channels, including digital and media. Focus on proactive communications, inclusive of storytelling, use of data, and audience-first, factual, clear language and compelling visuals. Simplification of often complex topics such as COVID trends and guidelines, Accelerated Learning and learning loss, and a district-wide transportation improvement plan.Expanded marketing efforts beyond traditional channels to include digital tools and advertising techniques. Upgraded branding materials and brand guidelines. Launched a pandemic campaign (“Backpacks On, Laptops Open, Futures Bright”), return to the classroom campaign (“The Future is Bright”), and advertising campaign, (“A Place to… Shine, Excel, Grow, Dream.”)Manage government relations and advocacy, with focus on issues such as Ohio’s overhaul of school funding, universal vouchers, and CRT. Successful passage of 2020 levy in the middle of the pandemic.
