Presently, I have a Bachelor's in Human Service and Rehabilitation Studies and a LADC II. This fall, I will be graduating from Cambridge College with a master's in mental health counseling and two concentrations, one in addiction counseling and trauma therapy.I am a program director at High Point Treatment Center in Brockton - MATC Tier 1 (hybrid model section 35) and have helped prepare our site for Joint Commission and DPH visits. I am a clinician at High Point Treatment Centers - Opioid Treatment Program, which equips me with additional experience and made me more well rounded in the substance use field.Also, I was one of 12 people who were selected to be on the Opiate Advisory Committee with Justice Resource Institute and DPH-BSAS. We discuss improving and implementing changes that will provide better quality care for men and women who seek treatment for opiates. This committee helped bring the recent changes that are now being implemented in the commonwealth of Massachusetts.I worked as the development supervisor for Teen Challenge Rhode Island from 2005-2009 and from 2017-2020. I helped organize the annual Joseph P. McDonald, ESQ. Memorial 5K and other fundraising events. One of my achievements while in this role, was raising $150,000 during the 2020 Virtual 5K, which was in the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. This goal was accomplished in less than 6 months. I've also worked as a clinical stabilization services (CSS) clinician at SSTAR in Fall River and served both men and women dealing with addiction and mental health. I have also invested time engaging in volunteer work and spent several years serving alongside Net of Compassion in Worcester, MA. My duties consisted of meeting with the homeless population who were dealing with addiction and homelessness. I would monitor and assess their need for substance use and mental health treatment, medical services or shelter/housing needs. Often, I would take people off the streets and bring them to treatment.Through my coursework and well-rounded employment experience, I accomplished skills that would equip me to thrive in many different work environments and with many cultures.
