At the age of 10, I created my own vision board to illustrate the future I wanted for myself. All the pieces, cut from magazines, splayed out on a poster board. An aspirational vision of leadership, service, and excellence that I still remember today (with a little bit of Luke Perry sprinkled in). The determined spirit of that 10 year old girl still lives on as I continue to aspire to great leadership and dedication to seeing others succeed. An accomplished transformative leader and project coordinator, I bring an expertise in educational leadership and strategic planning to my role. I am valued for my systems thinking approach to large scale projects and strong organization and execution skills. As a child of educators, I followed the path of my parents and became a teacher myself. I eventually yearned for leadership opportunities and continued on to become a campus principal. I loved my role as a campus principal, building a team of passionate educators and transforming the community that surrounded my school. A catalyst in that role was the training I received to become a leadership coach. I discovered my passion for coaching and talent development that I continue to leverage in my role in project management. Leaving the campus was the most difficult career decision I had to make, but I sought out bigger leadership opportunities for my future. In my current role I oversee multiple project coordinators and provide technical assistance for large scale state grants intended to support school improvement efforts. I guarantee that my team of project coordinators have the coaching and training they need to be efficient and innovative in their roles. The outcomes of our work ensure that districts and campuses across Texas receive the consultative services and professional development necessary to successfully implement continuous improvement efforts. Using a codification of aspirational best practices, our framework provides the blueprint for student success. I consider myself a life long learner, devouring leadership and career books, podcasts, and training on a daily basis to sharpen my saw. I value bouncing ideas and brainstorming with other like minded people.
