For 3 semesters taught the capstone course for the minor in International Development and Conflict Resolution. Designed and taught the curriculum, which focused on practical skills building for entering into the international development field. Provided all academic support to the program (grading, mentoring students, etc.).

Served as the Program Director for the Caux Scholars Program, an international network of Conflict Transformation young leaders. Managed recruitment of new scholars, provided support to the academic director in establishing the curriculum, managed all aspects of running 5-week conflict transformation training held each summer in Caux, Switzerland (logistics, scholar support, etc.) and managed the alumni network.

Oversaw the Country Program in Angola for the Mennonite Central Committee. Handled all correspondence and representational activities. Managed Food Aid and youth exchange program. Managed emergency aid budget of $1million (cash and value of in-kind donations). Trained Counsel of Churches leadership in Conflict Transformation skills and wrote a CT manual being used by all Protestant churches in Angola.

Mbabane, Swaziland

Seconded to work with UNHCR in Mbabane, Swaziland on refugee-support issues. Work focused on trauma healing and creation of peer mediation system in refugee camp in Manzini.

Bukavu, Eastern Drc

Managed MCC's regional office in Eastern Congo. Handled material aid effort after conflict in 1996- managed budget, oversaw distribution of food aid and blankets, liaised with WFP in pipeline negotiations, and handled all end use reporting. Managed reforestation project around four refugee camps, resulting in the distribution and planting of over 1 million seedlings. Co-founded COPARE (network of local peace activist groups).

Kinshasa, Drc

Served as Food Activities Researcher: ran resource center and provided technical assistance to other MCC Volunteers on AG and food security issues. Coordinated five urban agricultures projects in Kinshasa, training local extensionists on bio-intensive gardening techniques and value chain enhancements

Dingle, Iloilo, The Philippines

Served as an Ag extensionist assigned to the Dingle Agricultural and Technical College. Conceived and implemented an intensive technical support project to rural families surrounding the college campus, which resulted in a 120% increase in ag revenues in its first project year. Managed a Small Assistance Project grant from USAID which resulted in the construction of a reeling house for a community based silk worm project.
