Profile bio

About Krista Seitz

I've always had a passion for international affairs and current events. I chose International Relations (IR) as my undergraduate course at San Francisco State University because I enjoyed learning about other countries, languages, customs, and the global issues that transcend borders. This degree has given me a deep understanding of how countries behave in a multifaceted world where states have often conflicting ideas about how to respond to instability and conflict. Studying abroad in Wales my third year of undergrad ignited my drive to also receive my Master’s in the UK. This time, I attended the University of Nottingham gaining more expertise in diplomacy, negotiation, conflict mediation, and international law.Supplementing my studies, I was engaged in numerous activities and part-time jobs. I was heavily involved in the Model United Nations Society at Cardiff University and was selected to take part in the Model EU Conference at the University of Washington in February 2018. I worked multiple part-time jobs during my undergraduate year in the hospitality sector to pay my bills.During my year in England, I played defense for the University of Nottingham Women's Football [Soccer] and Futsal Club. Academically, I participated in a Negotiation Training Conference hosted by Christiaan Nelisse from the Cligendael Institute of International Relations, a Dutch thinktank, which improved my effectiveness in negotiation, intercultural communication, and bargaining tactics. Unfortunately, the pandemic began halfway through my Master’s program. Despite this, I completed my dissertation concerning border conflicts, specifically between China and India, earning my Master of Arts in Diplomacy with merit. Entering the workforce in late 2020 presented unique challenges, but I maximized the opportunity by serving as a Program Management Intern at Misha's Kindness, a nonprofit dedicated to enhancing food security across Southern California. Through their 'Feed Our Family' initiative, we provided plant-based meals to underserved communities, making a meaningful impact during a critical time. From 2022 to 2024, I was Programs Manager at the World Affairs Council of Orange County, a non-partisan nonprofit organization whose mission is to educate and inform its members and community on important and critical issues concerning world affairs. I planned, organized, and executed nearly 40 programs and events featuring ambassadors, high-level military & intelligence officials, international business executives, academics & authors, and other global experts.
