I have a strong background in environmental education, STEAM curriculum design, and community outreach. I hold a Master’s degree in Environmental Education from Southern Connecticut State University, where I also completed my Bachelor’s degree in Geography with a minor in Wellness. Throughout my career, I have gained extensive experience in educational roles. For instance, as a STEAM Camp Counselor, I designed and implemented engaging STEAM activities for students from first to ninth grade, honing my skills in curriculum design and hands-on teaching. In addition, I served as a Graduate Student Intern for the Office of Sustainability at Southern Connecticut State University. In this role, I organized educational events on waste sorting and recycling, coordinated sustainability events, and managed volunteers. This experience strengthened my project management skills and my ability to engage with diverse community members. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant at SCSU, I assisted in teaching large classes, prepared and delivered lectures, managed blackboard administration, and provided support to students. This role enhanced my public speaking skills and my ability to facilitate workshops and trainings effectively. My background also includes significant community outreach and program coordination experience. At Blue Earth Compost, Inc., I worked as an Outreach and Education Coordinator, organizing educational events, managing data collection, and collaborating with team members to promote environmental sustainability. This role allowed me to leverage my public speaking and interpersonal skills to educate and engage diverse community groups. I also served with AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) for 10 months, participating in various community projects such as repairing homes, building nature trails, and creating community gardens. This experience instilled in me a deep commitment to service and provided valuable lessons in project management and teamwork. Overall, I am passionate about education, community service, and sustainability.
