With Oracle, I assumed the solution strategy and product management lead role following the 2007 acquisition, driving post-merger integration of the Lodestar Meter Data Management (MDM) product suite into Oracle’s ecosystem. Spearheading the product strategy, we generated 400% sales growth over five-year period, contributing to Oracle’s significant market capture in 2012. My team and I introduced new products: device communications, preconfigured solution for expedited and low-cost deployment, business intelligence, and customer self-service. We then integrated products with customer information system (CIS)/billing to enable “meter to cash” functionality. I coordinated and facilitated annual user conferences with up to 1.5K in attendance to position Oracle as an industry thought leader. I also represented Oracle internationally, speaking at industry events as a product expert.

Leading product development, I established and steered the vision of the MDM program for Lodestar, which had 150 employees supporting 114 customers worldwide. I managed an annual budget and team of eight employees and up to 10 consultants. I project managed design, build, and deployment of Smart Meters product using data analytics and remote communications, a first-to-market product. The launch attracted Oracle, resulting in its 2007 acquisition. Prior to the acquisition, I led a multidisciplinary team specializing in product development, quality assurance, business development, project management, consulting, and client implementation. Directing the sales team as a product expert, I aided in demonstrations and proposal structuring and negotiations. Additionally, I oversaw client implementations, routinely interfacing with C-suite leadership to devise and install plans as well as presenting performance updates to investors and the Board of Directors.

I directed the full lifecycle of product development and on-site implementation while leading a team of ~10 developers and quality assurance specialists. Along with managing annual and project budgets, I regularly conducted gap analyses and data gathering to identify and implement new functions/features to enrich the user experience and support evolving business processes for new regulatory environments. I engaged customers, sales, and engineering teams to define and methodize new product capabilities. Most notably, I defined the product vision of Lodestar Transaction Management Hub v2 to satisfy energy deregulated market requirements. I also led prototyping teams to build and implement new network designs and functional software, bolstering product suites’ capabilities and competitive advantage in the market.

In 2000, I was recruited to Lodestar to open their Houston office, the company’s 2nd location. Partnering with the owner/president, I developed a product concept targeting deregulated energy market in Texas. The concept was later sold to a major utility for co-development, which funded the new location construction and team growth. I scaled the team of developers and quality assurance specialists, hiring eight full-time employees to product development team. I also accelerated employee development via mentorship to enhance internal capabilities. Additionally, I drove project management, product development, and on-site implementation while working with a team of 50+ personnel, including Lodestar employees, clients, and external technology and business consultants.
