NCVAW is a non-partisan grassroots advocacy organization founded in 2009 that works to strengthen animal welfare laws in the state of North Carolina. In advance of each legislative session, NCVAW sends out candidate surveys, inquiring about candidate views on several dozen animal welfare issues Based on responses to these surveys, endorsements are issued. NCVAW works to connect legislators to co-sponsor animal welfare bills. In 2020, NCVAW, in connection with Animal Defenders International, drafted a bill that would prohibit traveling wild animal shows in the state. It was the first such bill introduced in any state in the southern US. NCVAW collected co-sponsors for the bill based on our legislative surveys, and issued press releases and fielded media requests for legislative sponsors. NCVAW has over 22,000 followers on social media, and works to inform and encourage activism that improves conditions for animals.

Second highest ranking attorney in the corporation, and highest ranking female executive at the time, supervising staff of twelve attorney, paralegals, and legal professionals. Involved in all legal aspects related to the marketing of fruit and licensed products, including reviewing advertising, labeling, and sales material; preparing and negotiating contracts, leases, licensing agreements, distribution contracts, consulting agreements, purchase and sale agreements, and other documents; prepared documents in connection with trial and oversaw outside counsel; handled employee and personnel matters for nearly 1000 employees, including drafting corporate policy and Employee Handbook; conducted investigations and attended mediations and arbitrations; conducted antitrust reviews, audits, and draining; and supervised environmental issues including Superfund remediation efforts. Managed diverse patent and trademark portfolio, including patent protection programs, review of patent materials to determine availability of patents on technology developed in-house by Research and Development Division, drafting of trademark and technical assistance agreements and settlement of conflicts associated with corporate patents. Formed a sister LLC company and assisted in the development of a. fresh cut fruit program as well as a worldwide fruit sourcing program. Served as Corporate Secretary of the corporation, and arranged Board of Directors meetings, took minutes, and directed preparation of all agendas, notices, proxies, etc. in connection with Board Meetings. Managed Records Retention program for Corporation as custodian of all corporate documents, contracts, leases. property deeds, minute books and general records. Filed all corporate records as prescribed by Federal, State, and other governmental authorities required.
