I am currently completing my sixth year of teaching and entering into my seventh year as a special education teacher. The first four years of my teaching experience, I taught a self-contained classroom specific to students with severe emotional and behavioral needs. Within this school, I created both educational and behavioral plans for students to assist them monitoring and maintaining their behaviors within the classroom. After four years of working with the behavioral population, I received an opportunity to co-teach within a school district for the 6th grade. Currently, I work with teachers to build interventions within their lessons that help support students identified under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act. I am very skilled at creating behavior plans for students along with educational plans that help to benefit them within the school setting. I am also skilled in assisting teachers with low functioning students within the classroom, along with setting up appropriate interventions for students to utilize throughout the school year.
