Supporting the MNTU mission to conserve, protect, restore, and sustain Minnesota’s coldwater fisheries, their watersheds and groundwater sources. Overseeing and preparing strategic communications for advocacy and development efforts; assisting in the management of general operations, including work with contractors and employees; and coordinating chapter outreach and member engagement in advocacy, habitat, and MNTU’s education program.

Responsible for evaluating impact, ensuring strategic integration of program, equity and policy lens across Climate Generation, overseeing engagement of key audiences: educators, youth, community and influentials to support the mission of empowering individuals and their communities to engage in solutions to climate change. This position ensures internal alignment and a consistent standard of programming, fundraising, budget management, and evaluation.

Maintaining all aspects of operations, program management, administration, human resources, and fiscal responsibility during the Executive Director's leave. Meet with chair of board monthly and Board of Directors bi-monthly to communicate staff support needs and provide guidance to Board. Supervising directly two Program Managers, the Community Engagement Director, and Operations Manager. Nurturing an open, inclusive and anti-racist workplace, maintaining ongoing opportunities for all staff members to provide feedback.

I shape and direct the climate change educational initiatives at Climate Generation. Climate change education is an evolving and interdisciplinary field that connects especially with environmental and STEM education, but includes communication, policy, social justice and the humanities. Because of this, much of my work includes staying abreast of these other fields in terms of best practice and evolving trends. Additionally my work includes; • Nurturing and growing local to national partnerships • Seeking and writing grants to support existing programming and to grow new initiatives. • Evaluating existing programs and applying lessons learned.• Managing and guiding program staff.

Appointed to a group of 15 members to the new Advisory Committee for the Sustained National Climate Assessment that was disbanded under the Trump Administration. The committee will advise NOAA on sustained climate assessment activities and products, including engagement of stakeholders. NOAA will ensure the committee’s advice is provided to the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) for use by the United States Global Change Research Program (USGCRP), a confederation of the research arms of 13 federal departments and agencies, which carry out research and develop and maintain capabilities to support the Nation’s understanding and response to global change. Acted as advisor to informal education professionals taking climate science 101 online course. Met weekly in small groups via google hangout.

Provided STEM based professional development for afterschool program providers and. Designed "make based" activities.

Managed, developed and implemented a NSF ITEST grant funded project focused on engaging middle school in engineering through hands on design projects in an after school setting.

Developed Grades 3-6 curriculum focused on climate change.

Taught science in an inner city elementary school, coordinated after school science club and developed new activities. Coordinated fellows the second year.

Led 10-20 day wilderness canoe trips from teens ages 12-16.
