I promote Akron Community Foundation to our fundholders, donors and the general public through a variety of digital and traditional communications. In addition to managing the foundation’s website, I provide marketing support for our Professional Advisor Council and special events. I also oversee our marketing team's work with the community foundation’s affiliate funds on their newsletters, event materials, press releases and other publications.

I developed and wrote stories covering Medina, Summit and Cuyahoga counties. Assignments included Richfield Village City Council, business advertorials and community events.

Thoroughly proofread stories and press releases, following Associated Press style; reported on local news, writing two to three stories per week, including a promotional business feature story; creatively designed 40 to 50 pages in the paper each week; photographed local news.The Post Newspapers publishes six weekly newspapers and has a circulation of approximately 65,000 homes in Medina, Summit and Wayne counties.

Assisted students with multiple levels of mathematics, ranging from basic algebra to three-dimensional Calculus; helped students prepare for tests and build study skills.

As copy chief, I managed a staff of 16 copy editors; created copy editing and design handbooks; trained new staff members and editors; and served on the senior editorial board. As a copy editor, I accurately and efficiently proofread stories according to AP style; wrote creative and powerful headlines; crafted news briefs; communicated with reporters about their stories; and coordinated content with page designers.

As a copy editing intern, I proofread stories and pages, following AP style; sketched new designs for the opinion page; wrote headlines and briefs; edited and fact-checked obituaries; and pulled relevant news wire content.

I was originally hired as a summer intern and then got hired back the following summer during college as a full-fledged representative. During my two summers there, I meticulously processed customer transactions; remedied individual customer complaints and questions; balanced cash drawer; opened and closed accounts; and issued U.S. government bonds.
