I am a Scientist in the Potency Assay Development group at Pfizer Oncology (Formerly Seagen). As new molecules move through our pipeline, I am responsible for developing an assay to test the cytotoxicity or binding properties. I then have to qualify the assay, train Quality Control analysis on the assay, and then use the assay to test support samples for INDs and BLAs. Over the past several years, I have become proficient in:- Cytotoxicity assays- ELISAs- Cell based binding assays- AlphaLISAs- Cell Culture- ADC TechnologyBecause of the constant need to increase output and decrease timelines, I have also worked closely with the robotics group learning to use the multiple robots in our lab. The pressure to cut our development times give me the opportunity to beta test different kits and technology that vendors are producing. I always enjoy learning new things and being able to implement them to increase efficiency. And when necessary, I have been flown out to our collaborating labs to train other analysists on the assays we are transferring to their company.As much as I delight in being in the lab, I am also a member of my companies charitable impact committee where I chair a group to increase donations and awareness for a pet shelter that services our area. Giving back has always been important to me, and having a company that encourages this is amazing!When I am not at work, I am a coach for a girls high school lacrosse team. I learned a lot about teamwork, effort, and perseverance from playing college lacrosse and it is a goal of mine to pass that knowledge on to future players.
