And when you need to build the best product marketing function at your rising star start up, you entrust that task to me.Why? Because I love building product marketing functions from the ground up - and the challenges, the opportunities, and the possibilities that come with it.I could spend a lot of time here listing out my many specialties, but none of us has the attention span for that, so here are the top six:1. Connecting product, sales, and marketing. From narrative development to product launches to demand gen efforts, this is all a coordinated effort across teams. Hope you like matching best friends necklaces, because we're getting them. 2. Simplifying complex products. It starts with good messaging and positioning and cascades through to websites, collateral, sales enablement, and more.3. Delving into the minds of our customers. I like to really understand our buyers - what keeps them up at night? Where are their watering holes? What kind of content do they expect/want? And then acting accordingly on that information with content and messaging that hits home.4. Plotting out how we're going to market. Figuring out what the strategy is, how it rolls up to revenue goals, overarching themes, timing, and how this plays out over the course of the year.5. Building killer teams. I've got an eye for great people and how to tackle strategic projects with a finite number of resources. We might be small, but we're always mighty! 6. Loving the product. If I'm not head-over-heels for the product, why would prospects or sales teams be? That enthusiasm starts with me.
