CurrentDevelop a compassionate, flexible, student needs-driven, comprehensive school counseling program based on the ASCA standards for K-12 students.Provide small group and individual counseling as well as mediation and conflict resolution (including Restorative Justice Practices).Institute comprehensive character education initiatives which include the creation and teaching of whole-class instruction and school-wide activities.Introduce college and career exploration computer programs to K-12 students and lead them through instructional activities to hone in on their skills and interests for future planning.Act as Student Study Team coordinator, hosting meetings to determine the academic needs of students, provide recommendations and collaborate with the team to set goals and Sped assessment referrals.Act as 504 Plan coordinator, hosting eligibility determination meetings, annual reviews, and creating initial plans for students with disabilities. Participate actively on Attendance Teams, providing reports in weekly meetings, reviewing data, and collaborating on attendance initiatives as well as creating individualized plans for students.Act as Tobacco Use Prevention Educator, teaching lessons to 9-12 grade students and making appropriate referrals to off-site resources.Act as Wellness Coordinator, leading the committee's goals for improving overall school health.Execute the use of the PowerSchool database for student records, log entries, incident management, 504 caseload, and more.Act as Children and Youth in Transition liaison to advocate for students experiencing homelessness.Collaborate with multiple outside organizations to address the immediate needs of students through the provision of after school sports and enrichment programs, nutrition, counseling center materials, hygiene kits, shoes and clothing.Supervise PPS fieldwork students, training them to fulfill the duties of a K-12 school counselor according to the ASCA standards.
