Edify was the frictionless way to onboard software engineers, and the first technical onboarding product on the market. I raised $2.2M from industry-leading investors across the country and ran a fully remote team of brilliant people. At its height, Edify served 130 customers and paved the way for chat and AI-based onboarding products. I founded Edify after years building software engineering onboarding programs for teams all over the world - and I saw that there was a gaping hole in the tools they needed to bring on their new hires and help them become successful. Our advisors were technologists like Luke Kanies (founder of Puppet), Alex Witherspoon (Github, others), Chris Keane (Alibaba/OpenSky), and many others. I am the founder and CEO of Edify. She architects programs that are designed to evolve and scale with rapid changes. I consulted for Elemental via my first company, Edify Education Design. After being asked to join full time (after delivering major knowledge management updates on Jive as well as onboarding program overhauls), I became part of the HR team and the first learning & development owner. Some of the things I worked on included:- Developing the entire infrastructure for the new Internal Learning and Development program- Heading up superb and scalable employee onboarding- Building a comprehensive employee training program, including management and technical training- Creating and managing employee growth and development programs- Advising internal customers on learning approach and techniqueElemental was acquired by AWS in 2015, and I played a key role in connecting the cultures and supporting L&D efforts between the two companies during the change process.

I was responsible for responding to requests for information, proposals, sources sought, and other business opportunities. I also managed Squishymedia's client relations, business development, external communications with a variety of audiences, internal marketing initiatives, opportunity tracking, and management, correspondence, and collateral.

Through the AmeriCorps program, I educated and assisted low-income entrepreneurs and people on unemployment in financial literacy, asset building strategies, marketing, and business foundations that will strengthen long-term financial outcomes for those of limited means. I provided one-on-one follow-up and assistance with developing business plans that help individuals develop their goal of microenterprise and employment advancement. All in all, I developed 65+ unique instructor-led course programs for low-income entrepreneurs working with MESO.

I coordinated files, documents, and writing for portions of exhibitions, including one on Northern European Miniatures, Estampas de la Raza, one on Egyptian fashion, one on Indian contemporary artists and others.

In the Naturalist Center, I helped children and adults experience the touchable assets of the museum's collection.

I assisted the Projects Coordinator and the Volunteer Coordinator in carrying out community service, school group, corporate service, and individual volunteer projects. (paid position, non-volunteer)

I curated the exhibition "Wax Foundations: Encaustic in the Southeast" for the Weems Gallery at Meredith College. I oversaw the selection of artists, work, creation of a catalogue and announcement, creation of educational programming, and evaluation. http://issuu.com/meredithart/docs/wf_catalogue

I coordinated in-person, print, and online media marketing efforts to promote the Office of ACP and the services of the office. I also created new campaigns, focus groups, research reports, and new marketing methods for the office.

I was awarded a grant to study art and contemporary artists in Cambodia during the summer of 2011. In addition, I was also a Gilman scholar for the same project.

This grant was awarded to me to enable me to study and document North Carolina birds in a new body of artwork. I reinterpreted, reimagined, and also objectively represented many of NC's most famous and unknown avian creatures.

I researched the history and techniques of encaustic (wax) painting: Greco/Egyptian, Byzantine, and Modern. Throughout the summer I worked with curators, artists, and others to recreate new works in the style of each period.

I developed middle school educational programming and assisted with other museum education projects.

I developed a pre-kindergarten educational program, researched articles, and designed educational programs.

I work with CRC in their children's day camps over the summer and facilitate and lead activities and learning exercises.
