Focused for three months exclusively on becoming a better programmer. I directed my own learning path with encouragement and help from other programmers. I concentrated largely on python programming, computer networking, and integrating python into web applications.Learning was project-based. Automating testing of software for medical cardiovascular diagnostics through computer programming. Programming in Java and Python.- Responsible for all testing of ‘automation agent framework’ component – all the automated computations done on our datasets. Wrote automation in Java to perform parts of testing suite. Consulted with the developers and wrote tests to ensure requirement coverage. - Led the creation of test passes. With input from manager, determined what should be tested and set up new test pass in MySQL with complicated (and fun!) MySQL queries. Assigned tests out to appropriate people.- Wrote a python script to import test results from automation test runs into our test harness. Involved parsing XML, inserting results into MySQL database, and logic checks for entries already inserted, checking recent failures, etc.

Performed a multitude of tasks related to creating a novel cardiovascular catheter. Projects/tasks/skills included:- Performed experiments and used testing and video analysis to determine best practice techniques for safe catheter use- Creation and organization of critical documentation of product description, specifications, and development path- Created and designed (using SolidWorks) a subassembly for the catheter to solve an important safety issue- Performed strength and durability testing to determine best materials and configurations options for components - Developed and wrote most of the company quality tests for both in-house and lot release testing

- Helped establish a normalcy reference for further research on the vestibular system by imaging and analyzing hair cell patterns on the inner ear of toadfish using a scanning electron microscope (SEM) and Adobe Photoshop.
