I am currently employed by Pottawattamie County, Iowa as the First Deputy Auditor of Elections. I have held this position since May of 2008I am currently a CERA Graduate, along with a SEAT Graduate. They represent Certified Election administration both nationally and for the State of Iowa.State Election Administrators Training (SEAT)SEAT is a statewide program sponsored by the Iowa State Association of County Auditors and the Office of the Iowa Secretary of State to educate election administrators in election law, administrative procedures and best practices. Certified Election Administration Train (CERA)CERA is the highest designation available to elections and voter registration officials. Of the more than 21,000 elections and voter registration officials throughout America there are only a total of 677 officials who have achieved the CERA Status. This designation is achieved only through a multi-year course of study conducted by The Election Public Professional Education Program and completion of twelve core courses taught by the Master’s in Public Administration faculty of Auburn University ranging from ethics, to voter registration and elections law, planning, communications, and voter participation, among others. The intent of the program is to professionalize the management of voter registration and elections administrations in promoting and preserving public trust in the democratic process.I am in charge of:*Oversight of Voter Registration and all elections held in Pottawattamie County.*Ballot preparation, election equipment hardware/software training, programming, testing and maintenance.*Election Official, Technician and Temporary staff hiring and training*Facilitate early absentee and satellite voting.*Election Planning and Preparation
