My immersion in a variety of cultures, in addition to experience teaching abroad, have instilled in me a passion for learning, teaching, and traveling. While in Colombia, I recently taught at Universidad Del Quindio with Minga House, doing an English Immersion Program, traing and observing public school teachers. I taught one year at Universidad del Norte, in the Instituto de Idiomas. I have experience teaching in university, high school, and primary school, and am bilingual in Spanish and English. I have been teaching in Colombia since 2017. Teaching English to international students and teaching in various contexts in Colombia, has enabled me to adapt to and collaborate with learners from different languages, age groups, and cultural backgrounds. These experiences have pushed me to be creative and innovative in my pedagogical approach. I have learned to apply pedagogical theories to real life experiences that I have encountered, so that I am better able to adapt to various contexts and situations and encourage my students to do the same in their own unique style. I have a Master's of Arts in Applied Linguistics: TESOL from the University of South Florida, and a B.A. in Linguistics from the University of Florida. I taught AE Pronunciation 2 at INTO USF and was an English Tutor as well during my MA studies. I have experience teaching in Colombian Bilingual High Schools and Secondary schools. I have a CELTA teaching certificate and TESL certification through UF, with experience teaching all levels of ESL, ages 6- 50+. I have gained competence through extensive work with international students and working abroad. It is my dream to continue educating, spreading the love of learning languages and cultures.

English Second Language TeacherUniversidad Del Quindío Sep 2019 - Nov 2019ArmeniaDuring the English Immersion program with Quindio Bilingue, I designed interactive lessons incorporating theory and authentic materials into practice. The program was designed to empower Public School Teachers in Quindio to use dynamic activities, authentic materials, and base their teaching practices on theories of language learning. I evaluated and gave feedback on microteaching lessons given by the teachers. I encouraged the teachers to reflect and be critical of their lessons and use dynamic activities. We had committees such as spelling bee, music and song festival, family day, and speech and debate that we helped the teachers to organize and execute. This was a great way for teachers to use English and gain practical skills and strategies to use in their classrooms. -
