The mission of the Foundation for Integrated Care (FIC) is to support the continuing integration ofbehavioral health and primary care in Rhode Island. As IBH integration and reverse integrationcontinue to grow FIC collaborates with IBH content experts, learners, behavioral health providers,and primary care teams to, evaluate, staff, and implement IBH at the practice level. Ultimatelyreducing barriers to effective, sustainable, high-quality, comprehensive, and truly integratedbehavioral health care.

Assist primary care practices with operational considerations including hiring, scheduling, and documentation Implementing screenings for BH conditions (depression, anxiety and substance use disorders) within primary care.Assists systems of care with improving team based care models, in turn improving employee retention, provider satisfaction, and improvment in patient ourcomes.

Change agent, delivering tailored presentations, facilitating brainstorming and problem solving around program development, recruitment, workflows, optimizing electronic medical records, population health management, best practices in team based care and the operation of Patient Centered Medical Homes.

Utilizes a combined approach, pulling from extensive trainings, as well as, on going continuing education, contingent on the clients’ presenting problem and temperament. Treats adults, children, adolescents, couples, and families. Recognizes the importance of communication between various providers and prioritizes collaboration of care with other professions. Manages several contracted independently licensed mental health professionals and oversees the daily operation and office staff.

Actively participates in the development and implementation of the integrated behavioral health model within this patient centered medical home. Engages in IBH interventions with children, adolescents, families and groups.

Collaborated in the development of educational, clinical, and recreational programs for children and youth with ASD, identifying appropriate practice guidelines. Collaborates and consulted with other practitioners involved in client care, both within and outside of the agency, including child’s primary care physician and other medical and clinical practitioners. Hires, orients, trains, and evaluates program staff according to Gateway Healthcare policy. Provides clinical supervision and administrative oversight to assigned staff who provided clinical and educational services in ASD programs. Supervision included the monitoring and evaluation of performance, support, training, and guidance. Makes program staff assignments and coordinates staff schedules to meet the needs of children and their families.

Provided primary supervision to all Home Based Therapists for a caseload of children and adolescents receiving services from the HBTS Program. In the role of primary supervisor, provided extensive training to staff, specifically Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), The Triad of Symptoms in Developmental Disabilities, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, and other relevant trainings for direct care staff. Actively participated in the intake of referred patients, treatment review meetings, I.E.P. conferences, discharge conferences, and post-discharge (follow-up) contact with patients, their families, and receiving community agencies and schools. Attended and participated in the Developmental Disabilities Day Program’s multidisciplinary treatment team, which included Social Workers, Psychiatrists, S/L Pathologists, and Occupational Therapists. Actively participated in: the development and implementation of behavior modification programs for children and adolescents, the development, implementation, and supervision of strategies for analyzing treatment effectiveness, and Parenting Effectiveness Training. Engaged in psychological therapy with children, adolescents, families and group therapy.
