• Led a multi-institutional team to design, implement and seek funding for a $2.8 million proposal about solar forecasting submitted to the Department of Energy. Wrote an initial and final proposal and response to reviewers with a team of researchers from Idaho National Labs, South Dakota State University and the University of Texas El Paso. Excellent reviews of my leadership. • Improved day-ahead forecasting by 10% using novel data science methods. Developed and evaluated data science methods for weather forecasting in collaboration with an international team.• Presented to potential clients and wrote proposal for applying weather analytics to insurance claim data.

Features included: Extreme Weather Display, Availability Tool, Solar forecasts, and ISO Wind and Solar forecasts, which are more accurate than the publicly-available forecasts.• Streamlined customer onboarding process with scripting tools for wind energy forecasting within first year. Analyze the Seattle metropolitan, Pacific Northwest, and national economies and their relationship to customer’s energy end-use and consumption patterns. Develop and implement load forecasting and other models for use in preparing load forecasts, energy strategies, and policy recommendations, as well as prepare and make presentations to the IRP team, utility management, customers, stakeholders, and public agencies. This position will work on aspects of the City’s Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) for energy conservation and power resources. The IRP guides long-term energy supply strategies for energy conservation and power resources in order to reliably meet customer needs while maintaining low costs, mitigating risks, and minimizing adverse environmental and societal impacts.
