Being born and raised in the Cayman Islands, I took the route that most school leavers do and started my career in the Banking Industry. However, after 3 years, I discovered my love for IT and decided to pursue further education along that route.After leaving Cayman, I studied Management Information systems which taught me the skills to bridge the gap that is frequently encountered when evaluating the technical and business needs of an organization. I returned home as an Applications & Network Support Specialist eager to use technology to drive efficiency and was the first point of contact within the organization for application-related issues. During this time, I also pursued a Master’s in Cybersecurity: Cyber Intelligence and the GIAC Cyber Threat Intelligence certification which kindled my love for researching and writing intelligence reports on cyber threats within my industry.After a year of being in my role, I was tasked with supporting and managing the organization’s applications on my own – although I did not officially gain the role of Applications Support Manager until some years later. As the Applications Support Manager, I’ve refined many of my skills, most notably, project management skills.
