I have been working in HR for more than 20 years. I joined Tamro in 2006 and created a complete HR department from scratch. I am currently the Head of HR at Tamro Baltic (Latvia).My background is unique in that I received a bachelor's degree in music and pedagogy before beginning my career in HR. I worked as a music teacher and even spent a year as an au pair in the US. While my experience as a teacher may seem unrelated to HR at first glance, I believe that it has actually helped me develop important skills, such as the ability to communicate effectively and work with people of all ages. As HR professionals, our most important qualities are ethics, emotional intelligence, and effective communication. These qualities are critical to success in HR, mainly because we constantly communicate with employees on all levels.I also value the ability to read people and recognize potential, which I refer to as having a "sixth sense." This intuition is essential in the recruitment process, as it helps us identify the best candidates for open positions. In addition to my professional responsibilities, I am also committed to personal and professional development. I recently completed my first-level coaching diploma and am always looking for ways to improve my skills and knowledge. I believe that continuous learning is key to success, and I encourage my team to do the same.
