Reporting to the bank’s President & CEO, the CHRO is part of a collaborative senior management team and is responsible for providing hands-on leadership in developing and executing human resources strategy in support of the Bank’s overall business plan and strategic direction; for administering the Bank’s human resources management functions, including personnel policies, talent recruitment and retention, performance management, compensation and benefits, succession planning, training, change management, employee relations and morale; and for supporting Bank products and services.

With seven chapters statewide, as well as the Diversity Hiring Coalition, we work to serve the HR professionals of Maine, and to advance HR professionalism statewide.Currently serving as Past State Director and Special Projects Director. As a member of the College leadership team, the AVP & CHRO is responsible for developing and executing human resources strategy in support of the College strategic plan; providing strategic leadership by articulating Human Resource needs and plans to the Leadership Team and Board of Trustees; leading the HR department for strategic HR advancements in the workplace; and overseeing all aspects of human resource management policies, practices and operations for the College.

Serving the SHRM members between Maine and Delaware and sharing their needs and requests with the SHRM Board of Directors, SHRM Foundation Board and the HR Certification Institute Board. Professional instructor for SPHR/PHR Certification Preparatory Exam. I teach this course that covers the practical information in each of the HR functional areas to help students reach their professional goals and prepare them for the Professional or Senior Professional in Human Resources certification exams (PHR or SPHR). This course addresses the key components to be covered on the exam in the following areas:strategic management; workforce planning and employment; human resource development; compensation and benefits; employee labor relations; and, safety, health, and risk management.

Served as the President of this SHRM Affiliate Human Resources Chapter located in Portland Maine with 300+ members which exists to Serve the Professional and Advance the Profession. Oversee all chapter operations, faciliate membership meetings, chair board meetings and serve as the primary contact for SHRM and the Maine State Council.Also served as Treasurer in 2006/2007 and President-Elect 2007/2008.

Developed and managed the HR function after a union decertification. Also responsible for the daily operations of the credit union, branch administration, security, compliance, and member service. Also held positions of Vice President of Administration, Chief Operations Officer/Human Resource Officer and Operations Manager.

Designed and facilitated on-site training programs for bank and credit union personnel at all levels on various educational topics. Initiated marketing strategies to cross-sell financial services and training programs.

Conducted numerous new hire, customer service and safety/security training programs for ticket counter, gate and baggage handling personnel.
