Sr. Director, Nutrition Services
Greater San Diego Area
As Senior Director of Nutrition Services at Neighborhood House Association, one of San Diego’s largest human service nonprofits, I oversee a team of 30 employees, including key direct reports such as the Senior Fiscal Analyst, Senior Nutrition Services Manager, Programs Manager, and Operations Manager. Our mission is centered on food security and wellness education for thousands of the most vulnerable children and seniors across 60 centers in San Diego County. I manage an 11,000 sq. ft. facility, a 13-vehicle fleet, and a training center while ensuring compliance with $60M in federally funded programs over time.Specializing in turnaround strategies, change management, and visionary planning, I have consistently driven initiatives that revamp operations, launch innovative programs, and elevate our services to a nationally recognized standard. My leadership has resulted in new revenue streams exceeding $3M annually and has earned national accolades, including the White House Seal of Approval for contributions to the Let’s Move Child Care initiative.Financial stewardship is central to my role. I develop and manage an annual budget of over $6M, with a focus on strategic financial planning, fundraising, and sustainability. By closely monitoring financial performance and adapting to economic shifts, I implemented cost control measures that resulted in a $500K positive margin annually, ensuring our services’ continued quality and impact. As a trusted voice for the organization, I regularly represent the agency at conferences, in media engagements, throughout the San Diego community, and through political advocacy. I am committed to amplifying our mission, building strategic partnerships, and driving initiatives that enhance our impact across the community.
