Kristin Fleischmann Brewer is an arts administrator and curator. As the Deputy Director in charge of Public Engagement at the Pulitzer Arts Foundation, where she has worked since 2011, Brewer oversees public programming, education, visitor experience, community projects, audience development, and marketing and communications. She has mounted ambitious programming and commissions with local and international artists, architects, composers, and choreographers. She has built a programmatic vision at the Pulitzer that engages community through new approaches to museum learning and artistic practice inside and outside the walls of the institution. She curates poetic, thought provoking projects that mutually engage St. Louisans and relevant global issues. These projects have received critical acclaim from press including The New York Times, Architects Newspaper, and Art in America. Her strengths and interests are in long-term strategic planning, leading and developing teams, fast-paced and entrepreneurial work, creative problem-solving, and working with collaborators and staff to execute high-quality, thoughtful projects.In addition to her work at the Pulitzer, Brewer co-founded and co-leads the Diversity and Inclusion Committee at The Soulard School; co-founded Monaco (2017), a commercial artist co-operative; Citizen Artist St. Louis (2016), a non-partisan initiative of artists, organizers, and civically engaged individuals and organizations working to ensure that arts and culture are considered in policy-making; and is a board member at The Luminary, an incubator for the arts. Brewer also co-founded and directed Enamel Art Space (2012-14), a studio that exhibited work by local and national artists.Previous professional experience includes registrarial work for the St. Louis University Museum of Art, as a fine arts and art history instructor for the St. Louis Community College, and managing both commercial galleries and the human resources and finances of a Denver-based design and branding firm.
