EarlyWorks provides strategic communications and marketing, community and influencer engagement, executive and social impact counsel services to leaders focused on innovations for the greater social good.

• In concert with the Chief Education Officer (CEdO), strategic lead on all education priorities for the Governor, coordinating key communication, partnership development, collaboration and shared visioning across agencies and key partners around the state. • Staff lead for community engagement, equity and inclusion for the CEdO; acts as an advisor to all state education agencies on authentic engagement strategies and operationalizing of Oregon’s Equity Lens.• Charged with facilitating strategic planning, policy development and statewide convening processes for the two most prominent issues in education: high school graduation and chronic absenteeism. As part of this work, led community and stakeholder engagement strategies across each county in Oregon, which included multi-sector partners, each of Oregon’s nine federally recognized tribal communities, and local community and culturally specific organizations. • Plays a strategic leadership role in the advising the CEdO agency staff, and Advisors on policy and political framework related to current and future CEdO office and Governor’s office initiatives.• Directs the agency’s partnership development, strategic communications and media relations efforts.

• Oversaw all aspects of strategic communications (marketing, public relations, external relations and brand management) and resource development (foundations, corporate, individuals, government and business development) for the organization, supervising five staff and hundreds of volunteers during my tenure. • Led efforts to secure an $8.5 million dollar grant in partnership with Portland Public Schools from the U.S. Department of Education and a $375,000 investment from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (their largest domestic investment in 2008). • Conceptualized and launched a brand awareness campaign to tell the 21st Century Camp Fire story spanning web, print, billboard, TV and social media with more than $250,ooo in gift in kind (GIK) leveraged resources; coordinated with more than 100 staff on the campaign execution and story-telling strategies. • Raised nearly $1 million annually to support Camp Fire programs and operations with steady increases over goals each year; and led a Capital Campaign initiative raising nearly $2 million from individuals, corporations, and foundations to support a historic restoration. • Played a core role in the needs assessment, communications efforts and subsequent relationship building during the acquisition of another non profit which included a nearly $5 million addition in assets to the balance sheet and six additional counties of service footprint.

• Significantly increased the awareness of Human Solutions through relationship building, community involvement and public relations initiatives; led to the organization receiving the Spirit of Portland Award and Lowenstein Trust Award in 2007. • Designed and implemented a comprehensive marketing strategy to increase awareness and attain new donors including new collateral materials, website overhaul, e-newsletter development and online giving capability. • Expanded Development Department from one staff to four during my tenure to diversify funding opportunities, increase communication-focused initiatives and expand organizational capacity. • Responsible for nearly $500,000 in fundraising during each fiscal year; Major Donor cultivation efforts led to largest individual gift received in organization history.

• Led a team of creatives and researchers in the development of multiple marketing plans to present to biggest agency client resulting in signoff on over $4 million dollars in advertising placements. • Responsible for agency’s largest and most comprehensive account. Often tasked with drafting internal communications targeted at thousands of staff across client companies. • Strategic lead in the creation of many multimedia campaigns including television, radio, outdoor, web and print ads.
