The Restorative Justice Program at the University of Colorado at Boulder was recently founded and implemented on campus for students who have violated the code of conduct. The program is used as an educational tool as opposed to a punishment tool for students. The program offers meetings in which the responsible student offender can have a conversation with the targeted community and learn of the harms they may have caused, as well as learn ways to repair the harms. The Boulder County Juvenile Assessment Center (JAC) is a short term secure jail facility for juveniles in Boulder County. Located in the Justice Center, the JAC is responsible for intake, initial bond assessment, and escorting juveniles to their court dates. The staff is comprised of full time employees and volunteers. As a volunteer, I worked closely with the full time staff in record keeping on their computer system. I also researched and wrote a grant which awarded the JAC with $400 to purchase books and DVDs that teach social justice topics to juveniles. Responsibilities: Support full time employees in a short term facility with a 20 bed capacityWork with Tiburon computer system for juvenile intake and updated bond amounts/court resultsEscort juveniles to court and take notes of court resultsShadow the intake assessment process and bond assessment process done during intakeImplement educational activities for juveniles on various social justice topics Research and write grants for JAC funding

Residence Life at The University of Colorado at Boulder is an organization responsible for the residence hall experience on the Boulder campus. Residence Life allows professional staff and student staff to work together in order to build a safe and inviting community for students who choose to live in the residence halls. The student staff is comprised of live-in employees who work closely with the community itself in order to insure the needs of the community. As a Senior Resident Advisor, I developed programs that focused on sustainability and social justice for the residence hall community. Conference Services is an organization within the University of Colorado that is responsible for the set up and implementation of conferences on the CU Boulder campus. The Conference Services staff prepares the campus for organizations and groups that would like to hold a conference at CU Boulder. During the summer, I worked within the residence halls, which become the lodging facility where conferees stay. The Student Manager works as a manager for an area of residence halls ensuring quality assistance and customer service to conference guests. The Mail Clerk and Community Assistant positions at the University of Colorado at Boulder work within each residence hall to ensure mail and assistance to the residents that live on the Boulder campus. Each residence hall has its own package room and mailroom where residents can pick up their mail and packages.
