Previous endeavours in an oversaturated creative field like Advertising and Graphic Design made for a competitive job market when I was in my early twenties. So when, after four years work became unfulfilling at a communications office, I travelled across Canada in an effort to better understand my capabilities and future goals. My resume depicts a multitude of jobs that honed a list of excellent transferrable skills, and have aided me in learning the importance of persistent education, no matter what it is I do for a living. In addition to working at a global communications enterprise, an automobile factory, a hospital, many businesses in the hospitality industry (and working occasionally in freelance design), I also learned the basics of entrepreneurship when I started my own business as a Hat-maker. My love for the natural environment flowered greatly as I explored across the country in my 20's. My personal growth was largely fueled by a love for the outdoors, a new passion for environmental advocacy and a deep desire to become a part of community-driven change towards sustainability. In 2012, I decided to follow my heart and go back to school for a completely new career path in Environmental Science. What first began as a two-year period of study at Sir Sandford Fleming College turned into a five-year commitment, ending with a BSc Honours in Environmental Resource Sciences at Trent University in 2017. Not only did my time at Fleming and Trent help me procure a well-rounded skillset in earth sciences, sustainable development, water conservation/remediation, climate change and environmental justice, but I was also able to utilize and hone my initial skills in comm/design. I feel that, upon my horizon, there lay opportunities for these two skill sets to unite in an exciting career path geared towards environmental communications and environmental technology.I have just arrived back to Canada upon completion of a contract in Korea.
