We believe that opera is for everybody - singers well on their way to a place on the professional stage, singers who just want to dip their toes in wonderful world of opera, die-hard opera fans and folks who don't yet know how much they are going to love opera. In our 12th season, our five week summer program features classes in the business of singing, finances, acting, social media, and more; full opera productions, scenes, and concerts; master classes with the industry's movers and shakers; audition videos for all participants; and more. We tour throughout the area with our annual children's opera and special concerts. Spotlight on Opera is open to classical and musical theatre singers of all ages and aspirations, whether they aspire to a stage career or just want to sing for fun and personal enrichment. Our caring staff of professional opera singers, pianists, and educators works with each singer to provide guidance and growth as an artist. We strive to give every singer a chance to experience the spotlight for themselves, and to bring our audience members creative, fun, intimate, and high quality performances.

Alamo City Opera was founded in 2012 with the passionate intent of building a nationally recognized, professional INTIMATE opera for San Antonio, lending to the mission of the company of producing exciting, high quality productions in intimate settings. Intimate opera provides the patron with a very intense and entertaining experience. We use professional opera singers from around the world, including local and regional emerging artists, and the highest caliber of local symphony musicians each season production.​​ACO is in its 7th season producing professional opera in several different venues around the city. The arts group continues to tearing down negative stereotypes associated with opera by producing the art in English, and in gorgeous intimate surroundings, providing the patron with an up close theatrical experience, and priced so that everyone can afford to come. It is succeeding in building today’s new opera audience with an average patron age of 35 years. Since 2012, the company has produced 28 operas, many of which have never been performed in San Antonio, thus providing new and fun experiences. ACO is deeply vetted in the community providing educational opportunities and free opera performances for public school students. Corporate and foundation sponsors include City of San Antonio Department for Culture and Creative Development, Valero Energy Foundation, Halff Foundation, Russell Hill Rogers Fund for the Arts, Frost National Bark, Argo, Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation, and County of Bexar. The non-profit website Guidestar gave a Platinum rating to ACO for its transparent reporting.

Latin Grammy nominated chamber ensemble features the best performers in the San Antonio area. Next season features the complete works for piano and cello of Beethoven with founder Kenneth E. Freudigman, cello.

Organize and conduct Boy and Girl Choir (2nd-6th grade) which leads worship each week at the 9:00 a.m. service, training singers in vocal production, music reading, church history and tradition, and community service. Organize and conduct Youth Choir (7th-12th grade) which leads worship once per month on Sundays and at special services throughout the year. Assist with Cherub Choir (ages 4 - 1st grade), a non-performing group where children are introduced to music and singing in a Christian environment. Assist Music Director with Parish Choir (adult), accompanying anthems, conducting rehearsals and repertoire as assigned. Serve as organist in the absence of the Music Director. Manage children's music library, children's robe inventory, handbell equipment, and musical instruments other than the organ. Organize and direct annual Christmas Pageant. Organize and produce annual Talent Show. Organize and produce annual Children's Choir Musical.

Accompany rehearsals and performances of assigned choirs. Accompanied Youth Choir (high school) 1999-2003. Accompanied Chamber Choir (advanced treble) and Junior Chorus (beginning treble) 2004-2007.
