The mission of the Renand Foundation is to protect children who are at risk of becoming restaveks. In Haiti, it is estimated there are estimated 450,000 children in this circumstance. Many children lost both parents in the 2010 earthquake, which created massive numbers of homeless children with very few survival options. Other children are at risk due to the high levels of poverty in large families. The program is solid and sustainable and works very effectively within at-risk communities to protect these children and families from underage work and sex trafficking.The Renand Foundation generates resources for food, shelter, education, medical and dental care so families can stay together. They provided Haitian families the opportunity to rebuild their families, communities and nation through their own efforts. Self-respect and empowerment is taught through equal partnerships, awareness and education.My role was to partner with the Founding Director in an innovative wellness and reproductive health program through LETS
