I am certified with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in Education. My certification is EC-6 Generalist, 4-8 ELAR (English, language arts, reading), and GT (gifted and talented) certification with my district. I have taught math/science and all core subjects (self-contained) in 3rd grade as a first-year teacher and was a nominee for teacher of the year in 2016-2017. I have taught 6th Grade ELAR for five years at Watkins Middle School. I have worked my full career in Title 1 schools for at-risk and low socioeconomic students. My passion is for teaching and helping others to reach their full potential and helping them find a love for learning and growing.This year I completed the Principal Internship where I assumed many duties from creating and presenting many professional developments, writing a curriculum for our 6th-grade ELAR students, and collaborating on a school-wide discipline initiative. I have joined various committees committed to supporting teachers and supporting students and to create a positive campus culture. I have joined the FUN club (teacher positive outreach program), PBIS (positive behavior implementation system) Committee, Reflecting Minds, Mentor program for teachers (where I mentor two new teachers this year), and Mentor program for our at-risk students. I have helped teachers around campus to grow in their content and supported teachers by helping them create a safe learning environment and positive classroom culture. I am a results oriented, people-driven classroom manager seeking career change into a professional project focused work environment. The skills that I employ in a classroom setting have prepared me to be successful planning and organizing and managing workflows and personnel in a construction related project setting. My experience facilitating multiple personality types as a teenage education manager to exceed classroom expectations will allow me to leverage past accomplishments through my commitment to people development to drive projects to success.I believe that collaborating and building relationships are the key to any successful leader. I think that my experience with my current Principal and administrative team has helped me to grow so that I am able to move into a leadership role. I love teaching and curating trainings that help others to grow and be successful. I am looking forward to using my planning and preparing skills, organizational skills, and my ability to oversee many tasks at one time. I am looking forward to developing my skills as a leader in a new position.
